Once upon a time, about five years ago, I broke
up with my boyfriend of five years. It was pretty close to Valentine's Day and
come to find out, he had a really cute date for a party that I was going to be
attending as well. There
was no way I was going to be able to let that girl show up cuter than me, so I
did what every girl would do, and went shopping. It was Valentine’s night and the
Mall was packed! I’m already not too girly, so I was having a hard time finding
something to wear. Two hours later I had the perfect outfit, but now I needed
shoes.
I came across a store called “Shi”, it’s a female shoe store owned
by “Journey’s”. The store was going to close in 20 minutes, so I was looking
around frantically for the perfect shoes. Then, one of the associates asked if
I needed any help? I must have looked completely lost. As she was trying to
help me (which, by the way, I wear a size nine and a half shoe, so its hard
sometimes with my big feet), I was telling her what my goal was for the evening
and how I needed to look better than my ex’s date. The girl loved my story so
much; she had to share it with her co-worker. They said they have had nothing
but stupid sappy stories all day and it was nice to hear a real story.
The store was about to close, but these girls were not going to
let me leave until I was satisfied. They had me put on my outfit and we tried
on every shoe until I found the perfect pair. The store was open an additional
two hours, just for me! My mission was accomplished and my Ex didn’t know what
hit him! The following week, I brought the girls a gift basket to show my
appreciation and bought another pair of shoes. Best Valentine’s Day Ever!
